Social Media is Hitting the Streets, Literally
On the way to work this morning, we at OTMM noticed something we see everyday in the office – Facebook, Twitter and a QR code – but they were on wheels. Take a look at the back of First Call Office Supply’s delivery truck. Do you see they are advertising their social media sites? Brilliant! Social Media icons and QR Code’s are popping up everywhere. Companies are beginning to use social media sites instead of websites; on trucks, products, commercials and billboards.
International Digital Marketing reports that Coke US websites’ traffic has decreased 40% in one year while they have gained over 10 million fans on Facebook.
According to Beyond consulting, “23% of consumers prefer receiving information from brands via Facebook, instead of a brand’s website (21%) or company blog (3%).” With statistics like this it seems like First Call Office Supply has got the right idea. On The Marc Media definitely approves.
