The excitement generated by sports events is now one of the main drivers of social media activity. A lot of high school football hype videos have gone viral thanks to social media.

–35% of 18-to-34 year-olds frequently use social media to share sport-related videos.

–78% of people watch online videos every week on social media, 55% watch every day.

The bottom line is that including video content on social media platforms is beneficial to sports marketers because it provides a more personal viewing experience for fans, while also creating an engaging experience for those who can’t attend a game in person. This brings fans together, unites the chatter around sports programs and most importantly contributes to brand loyalty.
