On Air: WUSA9 and The Tommy Show Spotlight Spotluck
Hello, McFly! Spotluck is all over the airwaves with DC’s busiest media personality, Tommy McFly. First on WUSA 9’s The McFly Report–and then, minutes later, on 94.7 FRESH FM’s The Tommy Show. The impressive media coverage spotlights how the nation’s number one dining app is changing the way DC diners dine.
First, during the TV report, Spotluck CEO and co-founder Cherian Thomas talks with McFly about the idea behind the app. “We fundamentally feel that prices in a restaurant on a Tuesday at 2pm when it’s raining, should not be the same as prices in a restaurant on a Friday night at 6pm,” explains Thomas. The report explains the concept is a hit, with Spotluck getting more than 50-thousand spins per month from hungry Washingtonians. It’s partnered with more than 250 restaurants in 17 neighborhoods in the DMV.
Then, in an exclusive report on the radio, McFly announces Spotluck’s expansion into its newest hub, historic Downtown Leesburg, Virginia. “It’s a great story” says Spotluck’s Thomas on air, explaining that a group of local Leesburg restaurant owners requested the app come to town. They see Spotluck as the perfect way to band together and market local restaurants. As McFly says on the air, “great news for Leesburg.”
