Instagram’s Latest Update: Multi-photo Posts
On Instagram, it’s no more one-and-done, no more struggling to find the absolute best selfie. Now you can pick a whole bunch of pictures or videos to share at one time.
Don’t take this news lightly. Using this feature effectively can earn you likes, additional followers and even help your business reach the influencer status.
You can now showcase multiple angles of an event, feature different products or visually explain how to use a complex product within one post. It displays in a slideshow format, which makes it possible to share important content without creating clutter.
For instance, in the post below, an interior design company shows off their finished products to promote their business:
Big brands are already busy using this tool.
The NBA has a slideshow to share the highlights from 8 games from the night before:
Time Magazine uses the feature to tease a recently-published special report:
And Disney shares two pictures of the animated character Thumper:
Making your own multi-image slideshow posts is easy. Let’s walk you through the process step-by-step:
Step 1: Enter the Instagram app and click the plus button on the bottom of the screen to upload content.
Step 2: Your photos appear and you’ll see an option for “select multiple” or a button with stacked squares. You can then select the images or videos you want to include in your post.
Step 3: You then have the option to edit your post. You can edit all of the content with the same filter, or you can edit each image or video individually.
Step 4: After you’ve made your final edits, click “next” to create the perfect, creative caption. You can also tag people and add a location, as you would for a regular Instagram post.
Step 5: Finally, click “share” and your multi-image slideshow appears on your followers’ timelines.
Get out there and tell a story with a series of great pictures on Instagram. Then sit back and watch your customers react.
