One of our favorite social media platforms, with more than 362 million followers, is celebrating its 7th birthday today. Since Twitter launched in 2006, people all over the world have learned to share information, express their innermost thoughts, pinpoint locations, and much more – all in 140 characters or less! Originally called “status,” the name changed to  “twttr” and then became our much beloved “Twitter.”

So what was this first tweet ever, you ask? Jack Dorsey, who came up with the idea wrote: “just setting up my twttr”.
