Client Spotlight: iFLY Montgomery Grand Opening Kicks Off Summer of Fun

On June 13, both county and state officials were flying high at the grand opening of iFly’s Montgomery location. In a fun-filled ceremony, coordinated by On The Marc Media, iFLY Montgomery was officially declared open to the public at 9400 Gaither Rd, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Thanks to the skilled instructors, high tech wind tunnels, and OTMM’s event planning, it could be deemed the most fun event of the summer!

Sidney Katz, Montgomery County Councilmember, called it a “very, very special day” and proclaimed June 13 as iFLY day in Montgomery County. Jud Ashman, Mayor, City of Gaithersburg, was happy to have his city become one of those that allowed its residents to “defy the laws of gravity.” The well-attended official ribbon-cutting ceremony also had Meshelle Johnson, representing Senator Chris Van Hollen, and Jarrett Moore, representing Congressman Jamie Raskin presenting special citations to iFLY Montgomery for providing “wings” to county residents.

Following the ribbon cutting, the action moved inside the building where On The Marc Media had DJ Chad rocking the place with music. The starry night theme lighting seemed to provide a throwback to the disco era as eager flyers and wide-eyed family members took in the ambience of this thrilling experience. iFLY’s expert instructors took each group of specially suited flyers through brief classroom instructions before they lined up to fly.  Several of the aforementioned officials too donned the requisite gear and flew – they all seemed to have a great time as they were literally flying high! The entertainment inside was matched equally by the delicious variety of food offered by unique food trucks outside. Suffice it to say, a fun time was had by all!
