Facebook Gets A Facelift With Multiple News Feed
Some of us have the new Facebook news feed while some of us are still waiting for it. This improved news feed means larger images, multiple feeds for various interests and a more user-friendly experience across your mobile device.
Multiple feeds allow you to navigate between a range of different categories: Close friends, general friends, music, photos, games, companies, and more. A basic chronological news feed timeline will still be an option. Photos make up about 50% of all of news feed stories, which will have an even bigger emphasis now. Facebook created the multiple feed as a means to have a customizable newspaper filled with only the stories and photos you want to see. Could this personalized news feed make it easier to “Facebook stalk” now?
For brands, it means bigger ads and more images. Photos will take center stage and brands without visual imagery could get lost in the shuffle. Facebook will also feature videos from third parties such as Vimeo and YouTube which includes full-width content and in-news feed playing. The video thumbnail makes it easier to watch and share your videos which should garner more views. If your company has great content online, links to your blog or website will now show up in a larger thumbnail without having to add links into image captions.
