How To: Set Up IGTV.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of IGTV by now. Instagrams new long-form verticle video sharing app. Are you ready to start your brands IGTV channel but unsure where to start? Here is a step by step guide to get your IGTV channel started and get your first video posted.
How to Create Your Channel
- Set up your Instagram.
- You probably already have an IG account for yourself and your business but just in case you don’t, now’s as good a time as any to get that setup.
- Download the IGTV app.
- Yes, even though you can access IGTV through the original IG app, you do have to download the IGTV app to create your channel.
- Click on the IGTV app and select “continue as ____”.
- Make sure you are signed into your correct business IG account.

- Click the settings button and click “Create Channel”.

How to Post Your First Video
- Click the + to add a video.
- When you have more videos on your IGTV Channel they will appear below your name and you can scroll through them.

- Upload your video.
- Click “Next”.
- Now you edit your cover. You have a couple of options here:
- Use the original still they have chosen for you.
- Choose a cover from the video itself.
- Upload from your camera roll. You can also create a simple “title screen” to put as your thumbnail.

- Add your Title and Description.
- Be specific and creative here. Once you have multiple videos uploaded it will be easier to search.

- Click “Post”.
- You can also post right to your company’s Facebook page if it is connected.
That’s it. You have officially created your IGTV channel and are ready to post even more videos. Remember, videos on IGTV can be up to 10 minutes long and won’t delete after 24 hours like your stories do.
