Starting off in a job that paid $3.35 an hour, Sanders worked at several stations in Florida before landing a correspondent’s job at NBC. From there, he made his name reporting from around the globe, reporting plane crashes, hurricanes, and the front lines of war zones. His work was seen regularly on NBC Nightly News, the Today Show, MSNBC, and Dateline NBC.
