What Matters NOW

Stay in the loop with these trendy topics starting with a countdown of our favorites.

  1. The Levitating Boy

Walker Stillman sure knows how to make a jump shot look effortless. So much so, that a picture of the Illinois high school basketball player going up for a rebound, has gone viral with talk that Stillman is ‘levitating.’ People began calling him everything from “float boy” to “Jesus.” In fact, the photo got so much attention that the school released video of the play to prove the picture wasn’t edited – and that Stillman isn’t capable of levitating.

  1. The Motivational Snapchatter

DJ Khaled is more than just a DJ. He wants to give you the major key to success. He wants you to follow him on the path to more success. And lastly, he wants you to celebrate success the right way with Apple Ciroc after a long day at work. Khaled offers fans snippets of advice to life’s everyday trivialities, utilizing the key emoji (?), which has since exploded in popularity. Even the White House is in on the fun, quoting Khaled on their Snapchat and featuring him in a promotional video for Obamacare. His snapchat: djkhaled305.

  1. Kanye doesn’t want the $$$$$$!

In 9 days, a gofundme account managed to raise $7,933 to help hip hop star Kanye West, after he announced on Twitter he was 53 million dollar debt. West says he doesn’t want the money, so now the creator of the account, Jeremy Piatt will be donating the money to Notes for Notes® an organization helping musicians reach their dreams.

  1. DAAAAAMN DANIEL

Excuse our language but in case you didn’t know Daniel is back at it again with the white Vans. Damn Daniel is a Vine and YouTube video of a teenager following his friend around, saying “Damn Daniel” over and over again, in a cartoonish voice. Why is it so popular? We have no idea but the video has gotten over 300,000 retweets.  That was enough to get the attention of Ellen Degeneres. “Damn Daniel, you got on The Ellen Show?”

  1. Help Leo Win an Oscar!

Leonardo DiCaprio is famous for being an actor, of course, but he’s also famous for NOT winning an Oscar despite being nominated half a dozen times. Now there’s a new video game where you can help him on that quest. This hilarious interactive game “Leo’s Red Carpet Rampage” allows users to play as actor Leonardo DiCaprio, running down the red carpet, jumping over hordes of paparazzi, collecting boatloads of BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and Emmys, all in pursuit of the ultimate award, the Oscar. Along the way, there are a host of hilarious mini-games including one where you have to get Leo’s avatar to “cry hard enough” in order to earn the prize. We’ll find out if DiCaprio is able to snag the Oscar in real life this Sunday. He’s up for Best Actor in the film, The Revenant, February 28.
